钙信号研究:钙离子是细胞内最重要的信使物质,参与神经递质释放、肌肉收缩、能量代谢乃至细胞凋亡等重要生物学过程。于1993年发现心肌细胞内钙释放的基元事件,命名为“钙火花”(calcium spark),25年来形成一个新兴研究领域—钙火花学”(sparkology)。线粒体生物医学研究:线粒体是真核细胞能量代谢的中心,也是稳态调控、应激反应、生存与凋亡信号转导的枢纽。线粒体功能障碍与心血管病、糖尿病、肿瘤、神经退行性疾病等密切相关。于2008年发现新形式的线粒体功能事件,即“线粒体炫”(mitoflash)。线粒体炫信号高度保守并且广泛存在,与线粒体呼吸、ATP合成、活性氧信号及钙信号紧密相关,在细胞能量代谢、衰老、氧化应激损伤及神经突触可塑性中发挥重要作用。未来,基于自主研发的微型化双光子自由行为动物脑成像技术,拟拓展的方向为 1)以视上核为切入点,研究脑时间信息处理与节律发生机制;2)线粒体在脑功能、代谢调控和神经退行性疾病的发生和发展中的作用。
