研究方向
物种通过其基因组多样性所决定的表型多样性而适应不同的环境。了解生物适应性的自然规律和遗传基础,对于生物演化和多样性的研究至关重要。我们利用现代遗传学方法,重构物种在种群水平的演化模式,推断演化过程,研究与物种的表型、行为、种群历史和系统分类等相关的基本科学问题。目前的研究主要侧重于以分子生物学和种群遗传学为基础,结合传统生态学、生物地理学和系统分类学的背景,研究野生及驯化哺乳动物类群尤其是猫科动物的基因组多样性和适应性的遗传学机理,具体体现在以下研究方向:
(1)猫科动物及其他物种表型多样性的遗传机制和基因组学研究;
(2)濒危野生动物基因组多样性、演化和种群遗传学研究;
(3)中国野生猫科动物的保护生物学。
