利用X-射线晶体学手段及其它物理、化学、遗传学技术研究生物学和临床医学的基本问题;特别是研究物质代谢系统,蛋白质体内合成系统,以及与细胞凋亡和肿瘤的信号传导机制相关的蛋白质结构。
基于结构的蛋白质工程及药物(蛋白和小分子药物)设计方法。
利用常规及同步辐射X光源研究结构生物学方法,特别是单波长异常散射方法和低分辨率从头定相位方法;
利用和开发不同宿主系统来表达,纯化那些重要且难于制备的蛋白分子,特别是用于结构和功能研究的糖蛋白,膜蛋白等。
利用生化及物理学手段研究大分子相互作用及识别机理,特别是功能大分子复合物,细胞黏附,以及它们在神经系统发育,癌症发生及转移中的作用功能
